A meeting with Prof. Ofer Feinerman |
Moderated by Prof. Oren Harman
It’s not always possible to understand the whole on the basis of its parts. For example, sea water is wet, but there is nothing wet in a single molecule of water. Like materials, an ant colony will remain an enigma if we study only the behavior of each of the ants that compose it. In a conversation with physicist Porf. Ofer Feinerman we will learn how tools from the world of physics that help us understand matter can also explain characteristics of an entire ant colony such as cooperation and even altruism.
