The film No Other Land presents Israel’s systematic expulsion policy regarding the inhabitants of Masafer Yatta, in the South Hebron Hills, carried out by demolishing their homes. Families whose homes have been demolished sometimes rebuild them or sleep in the open, and many of them simply lose their land. Beyond the loss of the land, the expulsion also incurs the loss of their livelihood, community, and way of life. The film was created by the Palestinian-Israeli collective whose members are
Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor, in a Palestinian-Norwegian co-production. The film was awarded Best Documentary Film at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2024 and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film in March 2025.
Following the screening there will be a discussion with the participation of:
- Yuval Abraham, co-director of the film
- Elisheva Milikowsky, director, the Public Department, aChord Center, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
- Dr. Assaf David, The Van Leer Jerusalem Institute
