Al-Rasaʾil – The Letters, the epistolary novel by the Palestinian poets Mahmoud Darwish and Samih al-Qasim, is a fascinating and self-aware document. Through the letters, which have become an inalienable asset of modern Arabic literature and poetics, the two wonder what point there is in the exchange of letters between two poets.
