Hadar Ben-Yehuda

Senior producer at the Van Leer Institute Press

Hadar is a creator, writer and editor, and social media, community and content project manager. She specializes in culture, art and organisations for social change, and building digital communities for organisations and cultural institutions. She is active in environmental and urban struggles, as well as for women’s rights and victims of sexual assault.

Hadar was born in Tel Aviv and lives in Ein Kerem and Armon Hanatziv, Jerusalem. She is a screenwriter and a graduate of the Sam Speigel Film and Television School. She was one of the founders of the content department at the National Library of Israel, and of the blogs “The Librarians” and “HaMusach - The Garage - an online supplement for Israeli poetry, fiction, criticism, essays and art.” Hadar managed the National Library’s social networks, and the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel’s digital channels.

Hadar’s relationship with VLJI began with her promotion of the contents of the Ofek Project and the Forum for Regional Thinking in the media. Today she is the senior producer at the Van Leer Institute Press. Along with her work, Hadar lectures about libraries, books and online contents, and writes about children’s and youth literature on the website “The Journey to the Island of Maybe - Travels in Children’s and Youth Literature.”
