Prof. Dani Filc
Senior Research Fellow
Dani Filc is a full professor in the Department of Politics & Government and a member of the Health, Humanism and Society Center at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Dani Filc finished medical school at the University of Buenos Aires and has a Ph.D from the Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas, Tel Aviv University.
His research interests include health policy, the right to health, Israeli politics and society, and populism in Israel and around the world. He is currently studying solidarity in healthcare and the political economics of populism.
Among his publications are the books “The Political Right in Israel,” “Circles of Exclusion: The Politics of Health Care in Israel,” “Comics, Popular Culture and Ideology,” and “Hegemony and Populism in Israel.”
At the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, Prof. Dani Filc leads, with Dr. Hagai Boas, a workshop on solidarity in healthcare, and is in charge of a project on post-neoliberal imagination.
