A Globalization Studies Forum will begin to operate in the 2020-2021 academic year. The forum, which will be interdisciplinary and inter-university, will focus on five themes: global capitalism, science and technology, citizenship and migration, culture, and environment. The forum will meet for five sessions throughout the academic year. The meetings will include lectures by forum members and guest lecturers from abroad (over Zoom), discussions of key or new books on the subject, and plenary discussions, about possible ways and concrete suggestions to advance and develop global studies in Israel. In order to encourage original short-term research, the globalization forum will also serve as a platform for research project proposals relevant to globalization processes in Israel.
