The Translators Forum was founded at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute in 2016. It comprises more than 100 members, men and women, Jews and Arabs, translators, editors, and literary and linguistic scholars, who see their work as a formational act using words and at the same time also as a cultural and political act. Part of the project is the exploration of what is translatable and what is not and the investigation of the difference between them. Among the outcomes of this investigation is the emergence of a sensitive model of continuing work by Jews and Arabs with the aim of reconciliation between the languages.
