The purpose of the Ofek project is to make some of the contents of the public discourse in Arabic accessible to Hebrew speakers. The project has two tracks: the media track and an expanded track.

The media track publishes in the Israeli press opinion pieces translated from the Arabic media. Most of the articles are published in the establishment media (mainly Ynet but also Walla, Globes, Haaretz, Yedioth Ahronoth and others), and some are published in the independent media (Siha Mekomit, Haoketz and others). The expanded track publishes diverse texts and Internet articles, most of which are summarized and some of which are translated. All of the texts are published on a special page of the Forum for Regional Thinking’s website. The articles translated for both tracks are preapproved for translation and publication by the authors through the I’lam Arab Media Center.
