What is the best way to bring about equality and integration of the Arab-Israeli population in Israeli society? Integration or separation? This position paper examines the issue of the integration of Israeli Arabs in Israeli society in public education in a mixed Arab-Jewish city. The dilemma: Separation serves the interests of the stronger group, which seeks to highlight its superiority by being distinguished from the weaker group. Integration, which is preferred by most members of the weaker group, involves an element of force, which is no guarantee of future equality.
